I am proud to be a lifelong conservative and the only Republican running for Grant County Assessor. I believe government should be accountable to the people it serves, taxpayer dollars should be spent wisely, and every property owner deserves to be treated fairly and equally under the law.
As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a Grant County land investment and management company, I have years of experience in business. In that role, I gained firsthand experience overseeing budgets, financial reporting, property-related matters, responsible fiscal management, and leadership. That experience has taught me the importance of accuracy, transparency, and making sound financial decisions—qualities that are essential for an effective County Assessor. I believe the Assessor's Office should administer the law fairly and consistently.
I decided to run because I believe Grant County taxpayers deserve an Assessor who will focus on the office's core mission: ensuring that property is assessed accurately and fairly while operating the office efficiently and responsibly. The Assessor's job is not to increase taxes—it is to ensure that valuations are correct so taxpayers pay only what the law requires. Property assessments have escalated dramatically in recent years, harming local farmers and landowners.
If elected, I will work to:
Ensure fair and accurate property assessments.
Increase transparency and accountability within the Assessor's Office.
Be accessible and responsive to the public.
Promote efficient use of taxpayer dollars.
Look for opportunities to reduce unnecessary government spending within the Assessor's Office while improving excellent public service.
Grant County has a long tradition of conservative values and respect for private property. Those principles have guided my life and will guide my service as your County Assessor.
I would be honored to earn your vote as the Republican candidate for Grant County Assessor. Together, we can build an Assessor's Office that is transparent, fiscally responsible, and committed to treating every property owner fairly.
Every property owner deserves a fair and accurate assessment, regardless of who they are or what they own. As Assessor, I will work to ensure property is assessed consistently, accurately, and in accordance with Washington law. Property taxes are a significant burden for many families, farmers, and small businesses, and no one should pay more than their fair share because of an inaccurate assessment.
Public trust begins with an office that is open, accountable, and responsive to the people it serves. I will work to make assessment processes easier to understand, provide clear explanations of how property values are determined, and ensure taxpayers know their rights and options when they disagree with an assessment. The public deserves an office that answers questions, meets its obligations, and treats every taxpayer with respect. I will work to establish a more formal mediation process as an optional step before escalation to the Board of Equalization. Also, I will hold Town halls/office hours in different locations across Grant County to make the Office more accessible to other communities besides Ephrata.
Taxpayers work hard for their money, and county government has a responsibility to use public funds wisely. I will bring private-sector business experience and a focus on efficiency to the Assessor’s Office, looking for opportunities to reduce unnecessary spending, improve procedures, and make better use of technology and existing resources. My goal is a more efficient, accountable office that delivers reliable results without wasting taxpayer dollars. The Assessor's Office works for the taxpayers.
